An update (09.25.08) from Rudy to foster mom:

Hi Lynn,
Just wanted to write and tell you how I am doing. Things are great. I'm about to get the women around here trained. Fancy and I are best friends. Boo Boo and I play non-stop which wears me out. Mom lets me come in the house all by myself and hang around with her for 3 or 4 hours a day. I am very calm now compared to how I used to be (I still get soooo excited when I know it is my turn to come inside!).
I am growing into a very big boy, you would hardly recognize me. I have very long legs and am much taller than Boo. When I came here we were the same height. Mom and Dad have been busy this summer, the heat is hard on Mom's MS. Now that the weather is cooler she is getting outside more so that is fun.
Well, I'd better go before they catch me on the computer. I'm sorry I haven't seen you in so long, we will definitely come to the next adoption day (is it in Blakeney?). Dad's been going non-stop, but I'll bug him about a photo soon.
Thanks again for introducing me to Mom and Dad, they love me so much. We all hope you are doing well and look forward to seeing you this fall.

Love,
Rudy

An update (05.10.08) from Rudy to foster mom:

Hi Mom,
Sorry I haven't written you sooner but I'm exhausted! Between hanging with Fancy and playing with Boo Boo, a little guy like me gets worn out! Things are going really well here. Both the girls are crazy about me (who wouldn't be?) and I'm settling into the routine here really well. I've been playing with the other dogs mostly to get used to things but Mare (my new Mom) plans to start my structured "one on one" time next week. Boo Boo says that is the best part because I get to ride in the car and have Mom all to myself while I learn new things. She and Fancy have been giving me tips on how to be a good boy when I'm alone with Mom, don't eat any parts on the car, don't run in with muddy feet and go straight to the good rug, only lay on the bottom half of the bed, stuff like that. Fancy likes to drive the car when she's in it so I know not to do that already! Anyway things are going well, everyone loves me here. I'm still a little hesitant around Joe but I'm getting better, I'm not that crazy about men for some reason but Mom assures me that it will be fine and Joe is very gentle.
Hope all is well with you, let us know when you are having another adoption day and maybe Mom could bring me to see you. Joe's work lightens up in June so I think I'll have my portrait done then, I'll send you one. I look very cute in my new blue collar (if I say so myself!) Take care!

Love, your foster son,
Rudy

A note from Rudy to his foster mom:

Hi Mom,

Just wanted to let you know how I'm doing here at my new home after my first night. I have been the very best boy I know how to be. Joe and Mare are so excited to have me around. (I hope they don't start that "baby talk" junk people do, I'm a big boy now, but they're so crazy about me, I'm afraid it's coming!) I played with Fancy outside more yesterday, but not Boo Boo. Mare wants Joe there for the first few times because Boo Boo is so strong and energetic, they're afraid I'll get too tired. I watched TV with them last night and I got all the attention so I don't think training them will be too tough. They're already good on giving me treats when I'm cute (which is most of the time you know!)

I haven't made it into the bed yet but it is raining today so Mare will probably nap this afternoon so I'll probably work my way in by then. I miss you, even though I didn't act like I would ( I have to look cool in front of the girls you know). Mare and Joe said to tell you thanks for letting me come live with them, they feel truly blessed.

Guess I better get off the computer before Mare finds out! Take care, I'll write again soon!

Love, your foster son,
Rudy
