DACHSHUND DIGRESSION - Blog

Kasay's History

An update (05.26.08):

The Dachshunds are doing great and enjoying the spring weather. The vet says they could both stand to lose about 5 pounds, so they are on a bit of a diet. Lucky for us, they like celery and rice cakes, as you can see from the attached picture. They still love to lurk around the grill though, just in case there is a cookout. As you can see from one of the pictures, Kasay’s favorite part about hanging out on the patio is staring up at the sky, watching the birds.

All best,
Maria

Kasay has been ADOPTED! For such a small dog, this little guy had some very big medical issues when he first came into Crossroads. But getting into a foster home and seeing the vet right away, he was nursed back to health and has gotten himself a new home, a fantastic mom and dad, and a new Dachshund brother that came from a rescue in SC!

Kasay had to wear bandages and dressings and a cone around his neck for quite a while because of a serious infection down his back. It took about 8 weeks, but this patient little dog was a trooper through it all and has a very happy ending. He now lives in South Carolina. His dad is at home most of the time, and Kasay gets to spend his days running and romping with his buddy Brodsky. In the evenings they get to take a long walk around the lake on Winthrop College campus. His mom says it wears both dogs out so they sleep like babies.

Kasay's mom says they are very happy to have the two boys and they love them to pieces, even when they are naughty! Hurray for Kasay!
