An update (09.02.09):

We are doing great! Yes this weather is great, and Jack and Penny like going for their daily jaunt in the daylight!
Checked on Jack's microchip and it's all good, they don't charge an annual fee like the other company which is why I haven't heard from them. But I did add Jack to the other company's database for a small fee.
Jack is slowing down some... not as energetic as he used to be. But he still gets excited and is playful, we just have to encourage it a little more now. He eats great and his hips seem only slightly worse. He has been on Dasuquin for about a year now and it has worked really well for him.
These shots aren't great quality but are very cute. That is Murphy's behind that Jack is laying on!

An update (08.28.08):

Jack is great, just as sweet as ever. He still loves his toys, carrying them around everywhere, sometimes even on our little walks. And he still greets you with a bump of his nose to see if you squeak like his toys do!
His health is good, eating well, hips about the same. I did take a little weight off from him to help him get up a little easier. He is eating 1 cup of good dry food twice a day now. Remember how we used to have to coax him to eat by adding a little chicken or cheese? He eats right up now.
Jack isn't going to the office everyday anymore. I inflamed a disc in my lower back picking him up a couple months ago, so no lifting more than 20-25 pounds for me for a while. So, I work at the house at much as possible, going to the office only 4-5 hours a day. I think he misses going, but sometimes Mark brings him for me so it works out as well as it can for now.
We have a new addition, Penny. She is the little rag-a-muffin in the photo with Jack. She's a stray, some kind of Schnauzer mix, older (maybe 8+). When I found her she was emaciated, matted and filthy. She is a whole different personality now, confident and playful. One problem I am having (and we've had her almost 3 months now) is house breaking, any tips?
Jack and Penny both got to go to our mountain weekend with the kids first part of October, what fun, they both loved laying on the porch in the sun.

Kris

Jack has found a home with the Karlek family. His new mom, Kris, used to do a lot of fostering for Triad Golden Rescue. She now works a good deal of the time and often will take Jack along with her! Jack's new sister, Murphy, is also a Golden mix and they get along great.
"I'm feeling pretty darn lucky I found Jack, or he found me..." Kris said in a recent email. "Thanks again for everything."
