	This little, red Dachshund was our very first rescue from the Charlotte Mecklenburg shelter for the 2006 year. He was picked up by Animal Control officers in a parking lot off of Carowinds Boulevard. Crossroads went in and pulled him out and got him into rescue! In his foster home, he quickly became a favorite little snuggle-bug. Nicklaus (Nicky) got to go to our booth at the Springtime Made In the South show at the Cabarrus Arena this year. His future mom and dad happened to come to the show the day he was there. They got to meet him and that night applied for Nick online. They were the wonderful family chosen to adopt Nicky, out of all the applications we got for him. Nicky's new family consists of his mom and dad, two long-haired Dachsies, Cody and Madison, and an older, fluffy boy called Buster! He will also have kids to be his pals whenever the grandchildren visit! His forever home is on Lake Concord in NC. One day soon he may get to test the water and see how he likes swimming. He will also get to chase and retrieve a tennis ball to his heart's content with his dad. There is even a special room upstairs in the house where he can go up and watch all the doggie movies he wants. Do you think The Ugly Dachshund will be one of his favorites? He will live the high life, spoiled and loved by his mom and dad. **An update from mom says that Nicki is definitely a "mama's boy". What a wonderful happy ending. Hurray for Nicki!
