An update (12.18.08):

Deacon is doing so well, and loves the ranch life. He has found a tree where a possum family lives and he checks it out each morning as a part of his routine. He would be so surprised if someday something would come out to greet him! I am down to the 2 Saints. Maybe next year, I will look for another adoption. I wish you the best this holiday season and throughout 2009. I am attaching my favorite new pictures of Deacon... you would be so proud of him.

An update (09.16.08):

Hello everyone, from San Antonio Texas:

I was lucky enough to be chosen to adopt Deacon in the spring of 2007. We thought he was a St. Bernard, but as he continued to mature we believe he is more along the breed of a Great Pyrenees. He seems to have reached is final size, and weighs around 155 lbs.
He loves his new home in Texas. He has a 15 acre ranch with horses, cattle, deer, squirrels and all sorts of fun things to do. He is a total joy, and his wonderful personality comes through the sparkle of his eyes. He lives inside with our other pets, a retriever, a St. Bernard and a kitty. Unfortunately, we lost our 13 year Old English Sheepdog this June to mouth cancer. We miss Mr. Moose very much, but that makes Deacon leader of the pack. He is so easy spirited, and has no aggressive tendencies or scars from his early life. His foster family did a great job in the rescue and rehabilitation. His favorite food continues to be eggs and milk, which I believe his foster family shared with him as a baby!
I am sending pictures of him so everyone can know about this great success story!
Thank you very much for letting us adopt him; he brings so much to our family.

Deacon is growing very fast, every time I come home he has changed significantly. The most notable changes are in his head. It is getting broad. At this age for [our older St. Bernard], her face had not changed this much. I think their body structures are going to be very different. Although similar in some personality traits, he is more curious and confident. He is also a barker! [Our older Saint] never barks, even as an adult. But the two of them are the best of friends, and really loving this near-spring weather.

Thanks for everything. I am thankful for the gift the Lord gave me on an ordinary errand to PetSmart!
