Smitty

Smitty Happy Tails

Congrats to Smitty who was adopted on St. Patrick's Day 03/17/12.  His new Mom wrote on 03/20/12:  He was good on the ride back.  Things went well when we got home.  He checked out the house, the back yard and chilled for a bit then went for a walk before going to bed.  He went to a groomer today and had a bath and just a bit of snipping around the eyes…we can’t change his scruffy face.  He’s such a sweetheart, maybe a little stubborn at times, but I think he’s doing well so far.  Everyone who meets him thinks he’s a real sweetheart and a charmer.  Thank you for being his foster mommy and teaching him so much and taking such good care of my boy.  We’ll keep in touch and will get some pictures.

Duncan

Hi!  My name is Cindy and I am the proud human of Duncan!  I started looking for a new furry friend in February, 2011.  I searched Petfinders.com; saw Duncan and was immediately drawn to him. I filled out the application and was sooo excited when Charlotte from Crossroads Animal Rescue called and said she wanted to set up an interview with Duncan and me!  I was anxious to meet my potential furry Match!  I met Duncan on my son’s birthday!  Can you say this is meant to be?  Duncan and I clicked!  I formally adopted him a few weeks later.  Duncan is the sweetest little boy.  I am so thankful for Crossroads Animal Rescue.  They give animals the chance they all deserve.  I’m glad my road crossed their path!  I thought the best way to share our story is to let Duncan……

A day in the life of Duncan:

I’m lucky that my human works at home a few days a week.  On the days that she has to go into her office, our day starts very early.  At 4:20 AM, yes that early, I get up and run outside to take care of business.  I come back in and settle back into my king-sized bed, that’s a human bed.  She kisses me goodbye, tells me she loves me and to have a good day.  She always leaves me a few treats in my bowl for a morning snack.  I spend some time in bed and then I go downstairs to protect my home until she comes home.  I take naps on the sofa and my special bed that is in the family room.  When she comes home, I run to meet her and we go out back so I can become “Duncan the Defender” of my kingdom.  I run and jump and chase all the squirrels that DARE to come into my yard.  I play ball with my human and just run and have fun.  Every night after dinner, we go for a walk.  Weekends are the best!  We stay outside all day, playing, chasings squirrels and lizards.  I’m not sure what she did before she got me, but I know now that she has me, she is sooo happy.  I love her and I know that I am one loved dog!
