We are on our holiday/year-end hiatus, and will resume adoption events sometime in 2010. Schedule to be announced. Have a safe and happy holiday season! COMING UP! On Saturday the 12th, we will be holding our last event of the year at the Matthews PetsMart in Windsor Square. From 11am to 4pm, we'll be there with Sofie, Kiwi, Blue, Tanner, Dobie and Jelly Bean. The forecast is for high 40s with a chance of showers, so we'll probably be meeting indoors. Stop by to chat, grab a magnet, or meet our fosters! Happy Holidays! Tanner's bio has been posted! Click on his photo to the left to read about him. New pics have been added for Kiwi, and pics for Tanner are up as well. Tanner is a previous Crossroads dog who was adopted out as a puppy, and returned because his family did not have space suitable for Tanner's needs. He has now grown into a very handsome young Husky mix, and will be a year old on December 15th. His bio is coming soon! Luka has been adopted! Many, many thanks to his new owner, Jay, who generously donated $100 in addition to Luka's adoption fee! COMING UP! On Saturday, November 07, from 10am to 3pm, Crossroads will be participating in a Rally to Rescue Pet Expo and Adoption Fair, hosted by Friends for Life of Lake Norman. The event will be held in conjunction with The Rural Hills Sheep Dog Trials, there will be a "Strut Your Mutt" parade with prizes to the best dressed canine, and Crossroads will be hosting a low-cost microchipping clinic! Multiple groups will be attending the big events, so there's going to be a lot going on! The event will be held at the Rural Hills Farms in Huntersville (map). Don't miss this big to-do out in the country. It's going to be a great day! Hope to see you there. COMING UP! The weather is getting chillier, the leaves are beginning to turn color and fall... that can only mean one thing: it's autumn, and time, once again, for BARKTOBERFEST! Annually hosted by Barbara's Canine Café, this year's event will benefit both the American Cancer Society and Carolina Veterinary Specialists. Admission for the event is just $10, and includes food, beverages (non-alcoholic), doggie treats, a silent auction, and admission in various contests. Crossroads will also be sponsoring a microchip clinic for only $18 a chip! Click on the logo to the right for full details. The event will take place on Saturday, October 24th, from 2pm - 5pm. All dogs who wish to attend, please feel free to bring one or all of your humans along with you. Barbara and the gang sure know how to throw a party... we can't wait to see you there! New photos and bios have been posted for Jelly Bean, Dobie and Kiwi! Check them out by clicking on the pics to the left. COMING UP! We'll be back at the Pineville PetsMart on Saturday, October 10th. It looks like the weatherman is calling for some showers, so we will be setting up inside the store. Sophie, Luka, Kiwi, Blue, Dobie and Jelly Bean will all be joining us. Bring your umbrellas and stop by to see us and grab a car magnet! COMING UP! On Saturday the 26th, the Matthews PetsMart in Windsor Square will be the location for our event. Crossroads will be there from 11:00am 'til 4:00pm. We hope to setup outside, but may hang out indoors, depending on the weather. Sophie, Kiwi, Blue and Luka will all be there hanging out with us! The event will take place at the Bad Dog Burgers & Brew (in the University area) and will run from 10-3. The riders who have volunteered to participate will begin their trek at the Harley Davidson store in Matthews, and arrive at Bad Dog around 11:30am. It's going to be hot so bring your sunglasses! Jelly Bean, Riley and Dobie will be at the event with us. To read the full details of the event, or to register as a rider, go here! Hope you can participate! MANY thanks to Ms. Huanita Sullivan--who adopted Iris (aka Paloma)--who initiated a Matching Gift donation through her employer, Wachovia. The proceeds have gone towards the vetting fees for one of our newest fosters, Jelly Bean. Thank you, Huanita and Wachovia for helping us to save another homeless dog! A BIG thanks to Wagner K9 School for providing boarding and training for one of our foster dogs, Mocha, at a great reduced price. Their services and consideration are tremendously appreciated! Though it was hot, we had a fantastic time at the 2009 Bark in the Park! The old fairgrounds at the Metrolina Expo offered a whole lot more space for the event, so folks weren't as crowded. Crossroads raised almost $800 through donations and pet merchandise sales. AN ENORMOUS THANK YOU to everyone who showed up to participate in the event, and especially to those who stopped by our booth to chat, pick up a magnet, or donate in support of animal rescue. Crossroads could not keep doing to great things we do for animals without your generosity and interest in the cause. The two- and four-legged members of our group are very grateful, and we cannot wait for Bark in the Park 2010! A big thank-you to Dr. Patreece Lanier from Sardis Animal Clinic for donating her time to help us get some microchips implanted during the Dogswalk Against Cancer event, and also to HomeAgain, who provided our microchips and equipment! We would not have been able to hold the clinic without their support! COMING UP! On Saturday, May 2nd, we will be back at the Pineville PetsMart from 11-4. Present will be Emma, Pogie and Ernie. Looks like it's going to be in the upper-70s with some rainfall a little later on in the day, so we may be setting up inside the store. See you there! COMING UP! Here we go! There is a new location this year, the Metrolina Expo on Old Statesville Road. The date is Saturday, April 25th, and the time is 10am-4pm.
